The community of Whitehall is mourning the death of Allison Wilcox, who passed away on August 21, 2026, after struggling with addiction. Born on March 10, 1981, Allison was remembered as a beloved daughter, devoted mother, nurse, and generous community volunteer whose bright smile, personality, and laughter brought warmth to those around her.
Allison was the daughter of Lynn and George Enny and a devoted mother to her son, George Alanson Wilcox. Through her work as a nurse and her volunteer service with the Whitehall Youth League, East Whitehall Brick Church, and American Legion Ladies Auxiliary, she gave her time and care to others.
Her loved ones remember how she could light up a room and brighten the lives of those around her.
She is survived by her son, George Alanson Wilcox; parents Lynn and George Enny; sister Nicole Enny-Tully and her husband, Jeff; nephew Justin Tully; niece Jillian Tully; Georgie’s father, George Wilcox; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
She was predeceased by her grandparents Howard and Janet Bartholomew and William and Helen Enny, along with her aunts Susan Bronson, Wendy Davidson, and Patricia Schanstra.
Private services will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Community Bank Captain John Francis Memorial or East Whitehall Brick Church through Ann Keys, 73 Beckwith Rd., Whitehall, NY 12887.
Allison’s obituary leaves a message of hope for those facing addiction: no one should have to fight such a battle alone, and help, hope, and love remain possible even during the darkest moments.
