Anthony “Tony” Tuczynski of Ponte Vedra, Florida, formerly of Athens and Catskill, New York, passed away peacefully on August 20, 2026, after a long battle with cancer, just days before his 83rd birthday.
He was widely remembered as a dedicated educator, U.S. Army veteran, and deeply committed family man whose life of service left a lasting impact on his community.
Tony spent more than 30 years in education, most notably at Grandview Elementary School, where he influenced generations of students. Beyond the classroom, he remained active in his parish and community, serving in youth sports, church teaching, and local leadership roles.
He is remembered most by his family for his devotion at home. He shared 56 years of marriage with his wife, Patricia “Patty” Tuczynski, and was a proud father and grandfather who took great joy in supporting his children and grandchildren in all stages of their lives.
Following retirement, he continued to enjoy life through travel, golf, skiing, and time with friends and family, while maintaining strong ties to his faith and community.
He is survived by his wife Patty, his children Amy, Timothy, Jonathan, and Jill, and his grandchildren Scarlett, Lucas, Jamie, Mya, Ellie, Raeya, and Mari, along with his brothers and extended family.
Tony’s legacy lives on through the countless students he taught, the lives he guided, and the family he cherished.
